Michel Babajanian, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Michel Babajanian, M.D., F.A.C.S.Dr. Michel Babajanian is a board-certified Otolaryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (AAOHNS), a Fellow of American College of Surgeons (ACS) as well as a Fellow of American Thyroid Association (ATA).

Dr. Babajanian earned his bachelors of science degree in New York University in 1984. At that institution, he was granted honorary lifetime membership in Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society having completed his undergraduate studies summa cum laude. He then completed his medical education at UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles in 1988. At UCLA, he was recognized with honors becoming a lifetime member in Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. Subsequently, he attended Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York where he completed his internship in General Surgery followed by residency training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery under supervision and direct mentorship of several renowned Head and Neck Surgeons at Mount Sinai Medical Center and affiliated hospitals in 1993. His training heavily emphasized thyroid and parathyroid surgery, surgery of salivary gland tumors and the neck, minimally invasive treatments of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea as well as minimally invasive, navigation-guided endoscopic sinus and nasal surgery.

Dr. Babajanian’s practice heavily emphasizes and is dedicated to surgery of thyroid and parathyroid glands including minimally invasive surgical techniques. His main area of expertise is treatment of cancers of the thyroid gland. He has travelled extensively and has participated in preceptorships with pioneers of minimally invasive videoassisted parathyroid surgery and thyroid surgery in Europe and in the U.S. In addition, he routinely participates in conferences and continuing medical education seminars to maintain his skills in the latest and innovative surgical techniques. He is a reknown lecturer on the subject of minimally invasive parathyroid surgery. Dr. Babajanian’s office is equipped with a state of the art high resolution ultrasound machine. The ultrasound is used frequently for preoperative evaluation of thyroid and parathyroid tumors as well as for improving accuracy and safety of needle aspiration biopsies.

Lucia Olarte, M.D.

Lucia Olarte, M.D.Dr. Lucia Olarte is a board-certified Otolaryngologist with specialized fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Olarte’s practice is concentrated on both surgical and non-surgical approaches to reconstructive and aesthetic matters of the nose, face, and neck.

Dr. Olarte earned her bachelor’s degree from Barnard College at Columbia University. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Olarte completed her internship and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and finished her training in a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive fellowship endorsed by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Olarte has participated in various conferences with both the American Academy of Facial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, with a particular interest in women’s issues in medicine.

Her focused training on facial anatomy and the management of head and neck conditions enables her to skillfully obtain a natural and harmonious result. Dr. Olarte’s goal is to help bring out your natural beauty to achieve your most confident self.
